Central Indiana Skywarn Test Net
The Central Indiana Skywarn Test Net is held the first Monday of every month at 8:00pm EST on the 146.970 repeater system. Nets are not held if that Monday falls on a holiday or if severe weather is in the area. Check-ins are welcome!
Basic spotter training
The Indianapolis NWS will be conducting "spotter talks", also known as basic spotter training, at various sites in the area. Several sessions have been scheduled already and are being announced on various nets and web sites. The official list of spotter talks will be maintained by the NWS staff and can be found here.
NWR Transmitter Problems?

If you have a problem with the NWR Transmitter that serves your area, please call 1-888-886-1227 or email us at: nwroutage@noaa.gov
When reporting a transmitter problem (i.e., Dead Air, Broadcast Quality, Severe Static, etc.), please provide as much of the following information as possible:
• Transmitter call sign
• Transmitter location
• Date
• Time
• Problem
• Your receiver type (make & model)
• Your name
• Email address for follow up

2008 brings the next installment of the Central Indiana Severe Weather Symposium, an all day session geared towards providing more advanced information for severe weather spotters.
The 2008 symposium will be held on Saturday, March 1st, 2008, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, at the Valle Vista Conference Center, 755 E. Main St., Greenwood, Indiana, and is co-sponsored by the Central Indiana Chapter of the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Service Indianapolis.
